You looked up and you were crying

I didn't know why

or what I should say

I said I'm good for a different day

You said you were okay

I'm not sure that you were but

you taught a lesson I could hardly learn

You broke down chords so I could know

It felt too hard though

Then you said "try"

(and I tried)

And you said I could

(and I said I could)

and we did, then...

You looked up and you were smiling

I didn't know how but

You taught a lesson
