Scott Whitby, 2021

If I wrote a song

Would it be too long?

Would it be all wrong?

Will you sing along?

Will it be good

Like I knew it would?

I hope it could

Or at least it should

Would it sound alright?

And cause delight?

Do you think it might?

Will you listen all night?

But I might fail

When I write the tale

With too much detail

And not prevail

Maybe a song's too hard

And would leave me scarred

Some old canard

I should disregard

I'll write a book!

To sit in a nook

By hook or crook

I'll write a book!
