Scott Whitby, 2021

I work at guitar

Don't pretend I can

I work so hard to play

Will my wife be my fan?

Where I started, I come so far

Simple strums to arpeggios

I'm impressed with me but

I don't think she thinks so

Amazing Grace, Country Roads

Beth, House of the Rising Sun

Free Bird!

Will she recognize this one?

I make chili then practice

A song so mysterious

I wish you were here Pink Floyd

Can I play it as serious?

Benny Hebb and Sunny

A Horse With No Name

John Denver's I'm Sorry

Drift Away by Dobie Gray

I practice them all

No rhythm...but I got rage

I know all the chords

Same as Jimmy Page

Please Come to Boston

I think she hears now

Perfectly I pick it

I think she thinks "Wow!"

She calls from the kitchen

A compliment for sure!

She's my Brown Eyed Girl

I play it loud and pure

But my excitement fades

She didn't hear my guitar

She just letting me know

The chili was boiling too hard
