Scott Whitby, 2022

The devil came looking around, wanted to make a deal

Looked me in the eye, smiling with teeth of steel

I said come on in, sit down, share with me a meal

Fixed the devil a steak and a cold glass of whisky

He left the steak on his plate but he couldn't get enough whisky

Devil said I'm feeling good...that can be so risky

What's yo' deal Mr. devil...said I had to know

Tell me what yo' deal is ol' devil...I just got to know

He said needed to think a little

Won't take too long f' sho'

When he came back...his face was stained with drool

Stumbled over his words and said...got a deal for you

He thought he had another...thought he found another fool

Said he'd give me 20 years, I could play like BB King

Between now and then...you can sing all you want to sing

After that you're all mine

And I will be the king

I said how about this...you think you are so clever

He knew right then it was over...our short time together

I cracked a guitar on his head

Told him it was my pleasure
