Scott Whitby, 2022

When I found you

Your life was half gone

Mine close behind

Another sad song?

Your music mature

Mine from a boy

Questions too many but

You were never annoyed

Music from a master

Protégé and mentor

You taught me the keys

And sounds to explore

We made the best

Of what time we had

More than a teacher

A friend, brother and dad

When I found you

Our lives nearly spent

But I cannot cry

I cannot lament

For when I found you

My life could begin

With the music you taught

So I can play as a man
